We're investing in your future. The goal of Falcon Links at UWRF is to provide guidance, support and resources for students who have been in foster care, homeless or orphaned and who have an interest in pursuing higher education.

Connection is Key

Connecting high school students with a Falcon Links liaison offers essential support, including guidance on scholarships and grants, assistance with the admissions process and help navigating FAFSA and college preparatory plans, along with opportunities to visit UWRF. Current UWRF students can also access resources like life skills support, academic navigation, community resources and connections with fellow Falcon Links students.

Additional Resources for Students

  • Freddy’s Pantry is located in 268 Rodli with both non-perishable and perishable items, as well as healthcare items. There is also a microwave for immediate meal prep.
    • A second location is on the first floor of Ag Sci where non-perishable items are stored. 
    • Freddy's Pantry is open Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 5 p.m.; Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The pantry is closed on Fridays.
  • The Falcon Links office (234 Wyman Education Building) has periodic donations from Family Fresh along with other basic need donations. Please stop by or text the Falcon Links phone at 715-821-9851 to check what’s in stock. 
  • The River Falls Community Food Pantry is located at 705 St. Croix St. in River Falls. Hours of operation are Mondays, 10 a.m.-noon and 6-7:30 p.m.; Wednesdays 1-5 p.m.; Thursdays, 6-7:30 p.m.; Fridays, 10 a.m.-noon.

  • On campus nutritionist can be reached at chartwells@uwrf.edu or by calling 715-425-3863. The nutritionist can discuss your personal nutrition goals and dietary needs.

  • Located in 255 Rodli Hall, our meditation room is a small, quiet space designed for reflection, meditation and relaxation.
  • UWRF has partnered with digital mental health provider Mantra Health to bring you diverse, high-quality mental health support via the Care Hub. This all-in-one platform gives you access to a variety of free virtual services. Learn more about Mantra Health Services.
  • Students enrolled in 8+ credits get free access to the UWRF fitness center. Visit the Campus Recreation website to learn more about intramurals, fitness classes, open recreation and more.
  • Free sleep and cold kits are available in 254 Rodli Hall.

Medical, Counseling and Reproductive Services

  • Bicycles are available to rent from Falcon Outdoor Adventures. Rentals are free for UWRF students.
  • Need a ride home for the weekend or holiday? Check out the Ride Share Board on the first level of the University Center.
  • Taxi Service is provided through Student Health Services at no charge with the presentation of a valid UWRF student ID. Free service provides round-trip (within the city limits of River Falls) transportation to:
    • M Health Fairview Clinic- River Falls (319 S. Main St., River Falls)
    • Pierce County Reproductive Health Service (1234 S. Wasson Ln., Ste. A, River Falls)
    • River Falls Food Pantry (705 St. Croix St., River Falls)
  • Call 715-425-7878 to reach River Falls Public Transit (River Falls Shared Ride Taxi).
    • Call the taxi service at least 1-2 hours prior to appointments to allow for adequate time.
    • The taxis are handicapped accessible. Please let the service know of any special needs when calling for a ride so that they can allow extra time.

    • Besides the covered trips for students, trips within River Falls cost $2.75 per person. Contact the taxi for additional locations to connect with the airport shuttle.
