Handshake Terms and Conditions for Students
All current UWRF students have access to Handshake, an online recruiting platform specifically for employers to recruit UWRF's top talent. Please note: incoming students won't have access to Handshake until 24 hours after registering for classes. An account will be automatically created for them. All current students can log in to Handshake using their UWRF credentials.
I'm a current student, what can I use Handshake for?
- Job and internship searching
- Scheduling an appointment with Career Services staff
- Browsing upcoming events and Career Fairs
- Accessing exclusive resources like Big Interview, Goin Global and Reference USA
A Note About Work Study:
Work study eligibility and GPA information is not uploaded into Handshake. Please review job postings closely and be aware of your GPA and work study eligibility to determine if you qualify for positions. If you have questions about work study versus student assistance on-campus employment opportunities, please contact the Financial Aid Office and/or visit this webpage.
Alumni Access to Handshake
Handshake Terms and Conditions for Alumni
All UWRF Alumni have access to Handshake, an online recruiting platform specifically for employers to recruit UWRF's top talent. Some alumni may already have an account they have access to, some may have an account already, but just need to update their email address while others may need an account created for them. Please read below to determine which scenario applies to you and what your next steps should be.
I'm an alum, what can I use Handshake for?
- Job searching
- Scheduling an appointment with Career Services staff
- Accessing exclusive resources like Big Interview and Reference USA
Recent alumni: Alumni who have graduated in the past year can still access Handshake with their UWRF credentials. Please Note: After one-year post-graduation, alumni will no longer have access to their UWRF email. If you plan to use Handshake beyond graduation, you should update your email address with a non-education email address (such as Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.). Inactive accounts (accounts that have not been logged in to for more than one year) will be archived.
Alumni who graduated more than one year ago: Alumni who have graduated more than one year ago - but not before 2017 - may already have a Handshake account with their previous @my.uwrf.edu email address. However, because alumni do not have access to their UWRF email address beyond one year post-graduation, you'll need to update your email address with a non-education email address (such as Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.). Career Services can help with this!* Request Access to Handshake
Alumni who graduated prior to 2017: Alumni who graduated before 2017 likely do not have a Handshake Account already created for them, unless they've worked with our office before. Career Services is happy to create new accounts for alumni who would like access to Handshake for job searching, networking, scheduling an appointment or other Career Services resources.* Request Access to Handshake
*Please note: requests are tended to within four business days, during normal business hours. If you submit a request on a weekend, it will be tended to on the following Monday. Once Career Services receives your request and creates your Handshake account, you will receive an email (to the email address you provided) that asks to confirm your email address. In order for the change to process properly, you must confirm your email address in a timely manner. If you do not confirm your email address in a timely manner, you will need to submit another request.
