We recognize and acknowledge that implicit bias, racism, oppression, discrimination, prejudice and inequitable systems of power and privilege impact our campus community. Studies show that these factors affect individual physical, mental and emotional health, sense of belonging on campus and academic achievement. At UWRF's Counseling Center we hold a strong commitment to the diverse UWRF community and the promotion of diversity, equity, inclusion and justice. We recognize and value the diversity of our student population and we strive to create a space where everyone feels respected, heard and supported. We believe that diversity is a strength and we are dedicated to providing culturally sensitive and responsive services that honor the unique experiences and perspectives of each individual. We are committed to ongoing learning and growth and we actively seek out opportunities to expand our knowledge and understanding of diverse identities and experiences. Our goal is to empower students to achieve their full potential and we believe that this can only be accomplished by embracing and celebrating the diversity that makes our Falcon community strong.
If you have a suggestion to help us further our efforts to foster such an environment, please contact the Director of Student Health and Counseling Services at 715-425-3293.
