Welcome to Johnson Hall

Johnson is located on the west side of campus and houses approximately 300 students. Nearby, you'll find parking lots E and K, a sand volleyball court, a large lawn, campus trails, the Falcon Center and downtown River Falls. The hall is named after former professor Arthur N. Johnson. Students of any age are eligible to live in Johnson Hall.

Johnson Hall is co-ed by room. Two men may live next door to two women. Some floors may be single-gender. On floors that are co-ed, there is one community bathroom for women and one community bathroom for men.

2024-2025 Themed Community

Gender-Inclusive Community: The Gender-Inclusive Community is a housing option where two students share a room, regardless of the students' sex, gender identity or gender expression. This means that students can live in the same room with a person of a different assigned sex at birth.

This community provides students a safe space and the flexibility to accommodate the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) students, allies, and others for whom cultural or identity considerations are needed.

Interested students must indicate in the housing application in the Residence Hall Portal that they are interested in the Gender-Inclusive Community. By selecting "yes" (you are interested), you'll be able to request a roommate of any gender.
