Summer Camps, Conferences and Unaffiliated Guest Housing Information
Thank you for considering UW-River Falls for your summer camp and conference or intern housing stay. Residence Life is excited to offer you a high quality, convenient and cost-effective way to host your guests or yourself. We want to ensure that you have everything you need to make your conference or stay a success. Summer Camps and Conferences

Residence Life can accept camp and conference housing requests until May 15. Requests submitted after this date may not be accommodated and could be declined due to limited availability. Residence hall space for summer camp and conference guests is tentatively available from June 1 to August 1.
Lodging Options and Information
May Hall
General Information
- May Hall is located on the west side of campus and houses approximately 150 students.
- Nearby, you'll find parking lots E and K, a sand volleyball court, a large lawn, campus trails, the Falcon Center and downtown River Falls.
Building Type
- May Hall is a traditional style residence hall.
- Each floor holds approximately 48 students, with the community style bathrooms in the middle of the floor.

- Multiple single-gender, community-style bathrooms, including private toilet and shower stalls, sinks, mirrors and hand dryers

Ames Suites
General Information
- Jesse H. Ames Suites is located on the east side of campus and houses approximately 240 students.
- Nearby, you'll find parking lot O, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, an expansive yard and campus trails.
Building Type
- Ames is a pod-style residence hall.
- Each pod is made up of three clusters. Each pod houses about 22 students and provides separate, private bathroom and shower facilities with shared sink areas.
- Each pod also has shared common spaces furnished with a television, seating, table and chairs, plus a kitchenette area with lockers, full refrigerator/freezer, sink, microwave and island with stools.

- Smaller kitchens including an oven, stove, and sink are available on the 2nd and 4th floors

South Fork Suites
General Information
- South Fork Suites is located on the east side of campus and houses approximately 240 students.
- Nearby, you'll find parking lot O, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, an expansive yard and campus trails.
Building Type
- South Fork Suites is an apartment style living space without a fully functional kitchen.
- South Fork consists of four-person furnished suites. Each suite has four private bedrooms, a living room, a dining area/kitchenette and a bathroom.

- Two kitchens per floor, each with a microwave, oven, stove, sink and seating

Prucha Hall
General Information
- Prucha is located on the west side of campus and houses 138 students.
- Nearby, you'll find parking lots E and K, a sand volleyball court, a large lawn, campus trails, the Falcon Center and downtown River Falls.
Building Type
- Traditional double room where two students share one bedroom
- Prucha Quads where four students will share three internally connected rooms (the middle one is completely unfurnished).

- Common areas on each floor with chairs, couches, and tables to study or socialize
- Multiple single-gender, community-style bathrooms, including private toilet and shower stalls, sinks, mirrors and hand dryers
- Basement with free laundry, restrooms, private and group study rooms, vending machines, televisions, seating areas and tables
- Basement kitchen with ovens, stoves, sinks and a refrigerator/freezer

Non-Lodging Rooms
- All requests for non-lodging rooms (storage, office space, clothing sales, etc.) must be requested through Residence Life at least 14 days prior to the group check-in date. The room cost would be provided based on need and space available.
- If the request is not received at least 14 days prior to the group check-in date, Residence Life may not be able to accommodate the request.
- If Residence Life can accommodate the request, there may be an additional charge of $15.
- If the request is not received at least 14 days prior to the group check-in date, Residence Life may not be able to accommodate the request.
- All sales of clothing, food, supplies, etc. must be in accordance with state and university guidelines. Contact the Assistant Director for Event Services for further guidance on sales.
Amenities
- Bike Storage
- Bikes are welcomed on campus; however, they aren't allowed to be stored inside the residence halls. Bike racks are located on each side of campus, adjacent to the residence halls.
- Elevators
- Elevators are available in Ames Suites, South Fork Suites and May Hall. If an elevator isn't working, inform Residence Life staff immediately.
- Laundry
- Laundry facilities are located in each hall in either the basement or individual communities, depending on the building. Laundry machines are free to use. Depending on the building, these rooms may be closed and unavailable during the summer.
- If laundry rooms are needed, please note this on your Housing Information Form.
- Internet and Technology
- All residence halls are Wi-Fi enabled. Learn more about the campus technology through the Division of Technology Services.
- Black and white and color PrintAnywhere printers are located throughout campus in academic buildings, the University Center, May Hall and in the Ann Lydecker Living Learning Center. If you need access to Printing Services, please connect with Campus Reservations to request access through your reservation and you will be provided with a printing card.
- Trash and Recycling
- Residence Life custodial staff will remove trash from the common spaces such as kitchens, bathrooms, study rooms, etc.
- Camp groups are responsible for removing all trash and recycling from individual rooms.
Linen Packages
- At the request of the sponsor, linens can be provided at the rate of $10 per linen set. Requests for linens must be confirmed at least 14 days prior to arrival.
- A linen set contains: one (1) pillow, one (1) bedspread, one (1) bath towel, one (1) wash cloth, two (2) flat bed sheets and one (1) pillowcase.
- Due to the length of the camp or conference, linens may be exchanged at a rate of $10.00 per linen set. Sponsor will be charged for additional linen exchanges, even if the exchange does not occur. Linen exchange appointments must be confirmed at least 14 days prior to arrival to campus.
- Sponsor will be charged for all replacement costs of missing and damaged linen.
Safety, Security and Guest Conduct
- All guests are required to abide by policies to ensure an environment conducive to summer camps and conferences.
- Sponsor and sponsor staff must enforce policies with guests.
- The sponsor is responsible for reviewing, understanding, educating guests, and holding guests accountable to the Residence Life policies found on pages 17-30 of the Residence Life Student Guide. These policies are written through the lens of adult conduct, and some expectations, responses, or policy interpretations will vary based on minor involvement and UW System Youth Protection policies.
- Residence Life staff will walk through the hall(s) each evening completing a safety check of the building entrances, common spaces, including Ames Pods, and restrooms. Residence Life staff will talk to those who are not aligning with policy and report any concerns to sponsor and sponsor staff.
- The possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages by anyone under 21 is not permitted. The possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages by anyone 21+ is only permitted when all guests in the residence hall are 21+ and approval has been granted from Residence Life. Sponsor must contact Residence Life at least 14 days prior to arrival to campus to request approval regarding alcohol consumption. Alcohol consumption may only take place in bedrooms, not common areas, unless a special request is approved by Residence Life.
- All persons are required to evacuate a building when an emergency alarm is activated. If an alarm sounds, each person must leave the room and proceed to the nearest clear exit. Stairwells must be used instead of elevators. If the participant is unable to exit the room, a towel, sheet, or similar item should be placed outside the window, so that emergency personnel will know that someone is in the room.
Cancellation Policy
In the event of cancellation by the camp sponsor and group, please refer to your Facility Use Agreement for details.
Unaffiliated Guest Housing
Residence Life partners with local River Falls and surrounding area companies to provide housing for their college interns during the summer session. Interns must be a degree seeking student currently enrolled at a college or university during their stay in intern housing.

Unaffiliated guest housing is available during the below dates. This schedule coordinates with our student housing timeline to ensure we can transition spaces between occupants in a timely manner.

Unaffiliated guests will be invoiced and sent a virtual payment link to complete their payment.
Building Placement
Unaffiliated guest housing is located within our summer residence hall (announced spring 2026). The availability of spaces for unaffiliated guest housing is based on the overall occupancy of our summer student population. We are able to accommodate unaffiliated guest requests as space allows.

Check In/Out
Check in is 3 p.m. on the day of arrival. Guests will pick up their keys and check-in packet from the Residence Life main office. All guests must be vacated by 10 a.m. on the day of departure. More details will become available via email closer to the dates.

Community Standards
Unaffiliated guest housing is governed by Residence Life policies and procedures. Please review the Student Guide to ensure compliancy.
Residents and guests must comply with these policies as well as with those of the university, UWS 18 Conduct on University Lands, and with the laws of the State of Wisconsin and the U.S., which have been incorporated into these policies where applicable. Changes and revisions to these policies may be made by the Chancellor and are effective upon publication.
Unaffiliated Guest Housing Request Form
Submitting requests for spaces should be done at least one week prior to desired occupancy to allow for preparation of arrival. To request housing complete the Intern Housing Request Form. A confirmation email will be received once complete. Staff will reach out in a few business days with information on availability during the requested time. Submitting a request does not guarantee approval.
