UWRF Message to CVTC Students 

I am pleased that the UWRF Residence Life Department has partnered with CVTC to offer this special on-campus living opportunity for students enrolled at CVTC. We look forward to welcoming you to UWRF and our residence hall community! Our goal includes creating residence hall environments where each student can engage socially and academically, experience a sense of belonging and feel supported by staff and peers.

Availability

Fall Semester: UWRF has set aside a limited number of spaces for CVTC students for the 2026-27 year in a traditional residence hall with double-occupancy rooms. These rooms will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and will be held until the application deadline of Monday, June 1, 2026 at noon. 

Eligibility
  • You must be enrolled as a full-time student taking 12 or more credits at CVTC.
  • Eligibility to live in the residence halls may be affected by past or current criminal convictions or student conduct violations. If a CVTC student was a prior UWRF student and still has unpaid fees in their UWRF account, they will be ineligible for housing at UWRF until after those fees are paid in full.
  • To live in UWRF residence halls, you must complete the UWRF online sexual assault prevention training course.
  • To continue living in the residence halls from fall 2026 into spring 2027, CVTC students must have all fall 2026 UWRF fees paid in full. Those with unpaid fees will be asked to move out.
Rates

Housing rates for the 2026-2027 academic year will be posted on the Contracts and Rates webpage and meal plan rates will be posted on the Dining webpage once they have been approved.

Housing and meal plan rates for each academic year are reviewed by Universities of Wisconsin Board of Regents and approved prior to each academic year. 

How to Apply
  • Review the following terms and conditions:
    • 2026-2027 Terms and Conditions of the Residence Hall Contract for CVTC Enrolled Students 
  • Complete the following application for housing:
  • Submit Application and Contract Payment
    • Application Deadline: Monday, June 1, at noon
    • Email, hand deliver or mail your completed application and your $135 contract payment to UWRF Residence Life by the application deadline.
    • The $135 contract payment includes a $35 is a non-refundable processing fee and a $100 damage deposit. The damage deposit is refundable after the completion of your housing, provided that there are no damages to your room.

Room Assignment Notification

Once we receive your completed application with $135 contract payment, we will contact CVTC to verify your eligibility for UWRF housing. Once eligibility is confirmed, we will assign you to a residence hall room and send notification to your CVTC email address. The room assignment notification will include:

  • Room and hall
  • Name and email of roommate
  • Move in information
  • Fall semester cost and payment procedures
  • Details about the required UWRF online sexual assault prevention training course
Meal Plan

Meal Plan Requirement: All CVTC students living on-campus at UWRF must be on a meal plan contracted through UWRF Dining Services. The only exceptions to the requirement are for residents living in George R. Field South Fork Suites and in quad rooms in Prucha Hall who are at least two years post-high school graduation.

Meal plans: You will automatically be placed on the 45 Block meal plan. You may choose to change your meal plan to the 14 Weekly, 21 Weekly, 75 Block Plan or All-Access Plan. Change requests must be within the first seven days of the start of the meal plan for each semester.

UWRF Student ID Card

You'll need an ID card to access your residence hall and use your meal plan. 

After you have been officially approved for on-campus housing at UWRF, your ID card can be obtained one of two ways:

  • Visit UWRF: Visit the UWRF Carding Office, located in 160 Davee Library and open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Let the Carding Office staff know that you have been approved to live on campus at UWRF and need to have a UWRF ID Card created for housing and meal plan purposes.
  • Email DoTS: If visiting UWRF in-person is not possible, then you may email dots@uwrf.edu in advance of arriving to UWRF. Attach a personal photo of yourself to the email so that the photo is printed on your UWRF ID card. Indicate in the email that you are a CVTC student approved to live on campus and would like the attached photo to be used on your UWRF ID Card. The Carding Office will coordinate with you on the delivery of your ID Card.

Payment of Housing and Meal Plan: Schedule and Procedures for CVTC Students
  • Contract Payment with Application (Application deadline: June 1, 2025, noon):
    • The $135 contract payment is due to Residence Life with your completed application by the deadline. Mail your payment and completed application to the Residence Life address shown under "How to Apply" on this page.
  • Fall Semester Housing and Meal Plan Fees
    • Sept. 15 Invoice:  An email will be sent to all CVTC students showing an amount due for their for fall semester housing and meal plan. Options will be provided for paying by either credit card or e-check.
    • Oct. 15 Payment Deadline: Payment for housing and meal plan fees is due by Oct.15, paid online by credit card or e-check.
  • Spring Semester Housing and Meal Plan Fees
    • Feb. 15 Invoice:  An email will be sent to all CVTC students showing an amount due for their for fall semester housing and meal plan. Options will be provided for paying by either credit card or e-check.
    • March 15 Payment Deadline: Payment for housing and meal plan fees is due by March 15, paid online by credit card or e-check. 
  • Non-Payment of Fees:
    • Payment must be received online by the deadline date above to avoid additional finance charges added to the total amount due.
    • Each month, a 1.25% finance charge will be assessed on any outstanding balance after the payment deadlines above.

    • Students who do not pay their fall semester fees by the last day of fall semester housing will be asked to leave on-campus housing at UWRF and will not be able to return for spring semester housing.

Early Arrivals: 
The following two CVTC programs begin before the standard CVTC move in dates at UWRF. Students enrolled in these programs must email reslife@uwrf.edu to request early arrival, if they are seeking to move into the UWRF residence halls prior to Saturday, August 22.

  • Residential Construction: 
        Move-in date: Friday, Aug. 7; Program start date: Aug. 10
  • Criminal Justice: 
        Move-in date: Friday, Aug. 14; Program start date: Aug. 17

Dec. 18Move Out: CVTC students who will no longer be CVTC students for spring 2027 must move out by 10 a.m.
Dec. 18-Jan. 23Winter Break Housing: Residence halls remain open for students who will be CVTC students for spring 2027. There is no meal plan available during this time. There is no cost for CVTC housing at UWRF for returning students.

There is no meal plan available during this period.

May 22Move Out for CVTC students: 10 p.m., Residence halls are closed to CVTC students for the remainder of summer break.

Frequently Asked Questions

What hall will I live in?

Residence Hall Assignment

All CVTC students will be assigned to a first-year residence hall located on the east side of campus (nearest to CVTC). Students who are approved for an accommodation cannot be guaranteed placement in the same residence hall as other CVTC students. 

Can I request a different residence hall?

Based on student eligibility and room availability, CVTC students may request to be assigned to other halls:

  • South Fork Suites (must be 2+ years post high school graduation)
  • Ames Suites, Hathorn Hall and Prucha Quads (must be 1+ years post high school graduation)
  • Halls for All Students: Johnson Hall, May Hall, Stratton Hall, McMillan floors 1 and 2
  • First Year Halls: Crabtree Hall, Grimm Hall, McMillan floors 3 and 4, Parker Hall

Who will be my roommate?

CVTC students will be paired with roommates who are also CVTC students, unless they specifically request to be housed with a particular UWRF student. If there is an odd number of CVTC students living on campus, then we may pair one CVTC student with a UWRF student.

If you have a preferred roommate, your requested roommate should be indicated on the Application and Contract form.

How do I find the UWRF Residence Hall Student Guide?

Policies and procedures are outlined in the Residence Life Community Standards and Conduct Procedures section of the Residence Life Student Guide. All residents are responsible for reviewing, understanding and adhering to the policies and procedures.

Can I purchase an on-campus parking permit?

Yes, CVTC students are eligible to purchase a parking permit for the UWRF campus. Contact University Parking at parking@uwrf.edu or 715-425-3333. More information about parking is available on the Parking website.

Can I use the Falcon Center?

Yes, you can purchase an inter-institutional membership to the Falcon Center from the front desk of the Fitness Center. More information about memberships can be found on the Memberships webpage.

What is the UW System Administrative Policy 136?

This policy requires Universities of Wisconsin students to provide disclosures about the following prior to living in university housing:

  • Any prior felony pleas or convictions in which the student was treated as an adult during the proceeding and
  • Non-academic, post-secondary disciplinary violations that resulted in expulsion, dismissal or suspension.

This policy establishes a structure by which such disclosures are to be reviewed at the institution. More information about this policy can be found on the Universities of Wisconsin website.
