Summer Housing

Summer housing will be available Saturday, May 17-Friday, Aug. 1 and will be in Ames Suites (limited space available) and McMillan Hall. Ames Suites rooms will be filled first with the earliest signed contract date. Once those spaces are filled, we will be utilizing McMillan Hall.

Terms and Conditions of Housing Contract 


Eligible applicants can choose to have a full summer contract (May 17-August 1) or a nightly contract.

  • Any UWRF student enrolled or intending to enroll for summer 2025 or for the 2025-26 academic year

  • Any UWRF student employed by a campus department for the summer

  • Relationship with or guest of a campus department (verification from the department required)

Eligible applicants can choose to have a full summer contract (May 19-August 1) or a nightly contract.

  • Full Summer Contract: UWRF students with a 2025-26 housing contract who have signed a full summer contract may move directly into their 2025-26 housing assignment August 1-29 at no additional cost.
  • Nightly Contract: August 1 is the last date that nightly contract students are able to live in summer housing. Students with nightly contracts who will be living on campus for fall 2025 and are seeking to move in early (before the standard August 29 fall move-in day) will need to log into the Housing Portal and sign an "Early Arrival" contract once it becomes available during the summer.

All rooms are single rooms and available either at the full summer rate or at the nightly rate. If students wish to pair up as roommates, the cost per person is the same.

  • Full summer contract (May 17-August 1): $1,500
  • Nightly contract (May 17-August 1): $25/night
     

UWRF students will have the summer housing costs billed to their eSIS account.

  • Full summer contracts: Will be billed $500 on June 1, July 1 and August 1.
    • There is no additional cost for August 1-29 for students moving into their fall 2025 on-campus room.
  • Nightly contracts: Full cost for duration of stay will be billed upon check in.

Please note, there is an all-campus power outage scheduled for Sunday, May 18 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Checking Into Your Summer Hall: 

  • Current spring semester on-campus students: Pick up your summer room key(s) and check into your summer room by meeting with your Summer Area Coordinator (information below) on Saturday, May 17, between 1-4 p.m. If you need assistance finding their office, please email them. You must complete your move by May 19 at 10 p.m. to avoid being billed for additional nights in your spring 2025 room. 
  • Off-campus students moving on campus: Pick up your summer room key(s) and check into your summer room on Monday, May 19 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. in the main lobby of Ann Lydecker Living Learning Center.
  • Nightly contract residents: Will need to schedule an appointment 24 business hours in advance by emailing reslife@uwrf.edu


If you have any difficulties with moving according to the schedule above, then please email reslife@uwrf.edu and provide details so that we can work with you to find a solution. 

Your student ID is required to gain access to your hall. Make sure that you have your student ID before checking in!

Unloading at your hall: After checking in and receiving your room key, proceed to unloading zones near your hall and turn on your vehicle's 4-way flashers. Once your items are unloaded, students, please move your car to the parking lot where you have a permit. Parents, please park your vehicle on a public street.

1-Day Power Outage: On Sunday, May 18, there will be a campus-wide power outage from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. This will affect all residence halls. There will continue to be card access for students to their halls and safety lighting.

13-Day Hot Water Outage (McMillan Hall): Due to annual maintenance on the campus heating plant, students in McMillan hall will not have access to hot water Saturday, May 17-Thursday, May 29. Students in McMillan will be provided with door access to Crabtree Hall to take hot showers.

Full-summer contract residents with a 2025-26 housing contract: Will move to your 2025-26 housing assignment on Friday, Aug. 1 or as soon as the room is available. UWRF students with a 2025-26 housing contract may move directly into their 2025-26 housing assignment August 1-29 at no additional cost. More details will come regarding your check out process.

Full-summer contract residents without a 2025-26 housing contract: Will need to move out on Friday, Aug. 1 by 4 p.m. More details will come regarding your check out process.


Nightly contract residents: 

  • OPTION 1: Schedule an appointment at least 24 business hours in advance of your move out.

    • Contact your summer hall’s area coordinator below to schedule a time for moving out on your move out day. You must be checked out by 10 p.m. on your scheduled move out day to avoid being billed for additional nights.

  • OPTION 2: Request an Express Checkout Envelope.

    • Email reslife@uwrf.edu at least 24 business hours in advance of your move out to request an Express Checkout Envelope.
    • Complete all check out steps listed in the "Move Out Steps" section on the Move Out webpage.

    • Pick up your express check out envelope in your student mailbox, complete all information, place your key in the envelope and then drop off your key in the mail slot located on the area coordinator or community assistant office door.

    • Students who choose the express check out option forfeit their right to appeal any charges associated with damages discovered by staff through our room condition review.

    • Staff will go through your room for a final review. Any new damages found could be added to your RCR.
