Just like we provide resources to our Falcons, we want to provide families and supporters of our Falcons with timely and useful information so that you can best support your student. Signing the Housing Contract
- Students can sign their housing contract beginning mid-September the year before they graduate high school.
- They can choose a roommate using the roommate search feature in the Housing Portal beginning in mid-November.
- Students can select a random roommate during room selection if they don't use the roommate search feature.
- They can choose a residence hall and room with their roommate starting in early summer (incoming students) or early spring (returning students).
- Students can sign their housing contract beginning in early October of the current academic year.
- They can request a specific roommate by emailing reslife@uwrf.edu after completing their housing contract.
- They can indicate their preferred residence hall(s) by emailing reslife@uwrf.edu (subject to availability).
- Students will be emailed their residence hall, room, roommate and Move In details in early January.
Academic Breaks and Housing
At UWRF, there are four different breaks throughout the academic year:
- Fall Break
- Thanksgiving Break
- Winter Break (or J-Term)
- Spring Break
Students living on campus are able to stay within their assigned residence hall room and are able to access their room during any break on campus at no additional cost.

Welcome and Care Packages
The Residence Life Department is sponsoring and distributing care packages throughout the academic year for our students. For those who have never sent a college care package, the impact on your student is amazing. Your student will love them and the sales help fund many of our organization’s initiatives!
Valentine's Day is right around the corner and Residence Life has a sweet surprise for you! We’re excited to offer families the chance to send their student a fun and festive care package filled with colors, flavors and treats to make this holiday extra special. Want to keep the love going all year long? You can even choose a package plan for the rest of the academic year!
Ordering is easy. Visit swaku-2.com/uwrf-cp-home to select your package. You can write a personal note that will be the first thing your student sees when they open their care package.
Hurry! The deadline to order is January 27, so don’t miss out on this chance to send some extra love!
Please note: Packages will be made available by Wednesday, Feb. 12. Packages may arrive earlier but no later than Feb. 12. Your student will be notified with pickup instructions and you'll receive a delivery notification as well.
