College is an important investment and a decision we know you don’t take lightly. Part of the decision-making process includes a vitally important conversation – how to pay for college. UWRF Scholarships
In general, scholarships through UW-River Falls may be based on academic performance, financial need, program of study, year in school or many other factors.
External Scholarships
Scholarships are available to students from organizations outside of UWRF. Visit this page to see a listing of some external scholarship search engines.
Grants
Grants are need-based and are considered gift aid so they don't have to be repaid. You're considered for all federal and state grants when applying for financial aid.
Loans
Several loan programs are available to students. Some loan programs are need-based and federally funded. Others are available regardless of need.
Student Employment
We offer two kinds of on-campus student employment at UWRF: Federal Work Study and Student Assistance positions.
Nonresident Tuition Waiver
All U.S. students, other than those who qualify under specific programs, may be eligible for the Study in Wisconsin - nonresident tuition waiver program.
