Federal Direct Loan Interest Rates for 2024-2025

The 2024-2025 Annual Interest Rates for the Federal Direct Loan Program will apply for loans disbursed on or after July 1, 2024 and before July 1, 2025. All interest rates shown in the chart are fixed rates. A fixed rate will not change for the life of the loan. • UWRF scholarship applications open EARLY - a year in advance of when you receive the funds. Applications open for admitted new and transfer students in October the year before they plan to start and in November for continuing students who are currently enrolled at UWRF.
• Most scholarships have a deadline of February 1 every application cycle, however, dates may vary. For example study/travel abroad scholarships, graduate counseling and the Chancellor's and Falcon Scholars Scholarships all have different deadlines. It's important to review the scholarship description for specific dates on the application site to ensure you apply in a timely manner.

If your loans are in repayment status, please be aware that federal deferment has ended. To prepare yourself for repayment, follow the steps below.

1. Confirm your student loan servicer: studentaid.gov (log in with your FSA ID)
2. Explore repayment options: studentaid.gov/manage-loans/repayment; Choose the federal student loan repayment plan that's best for you at studentaid.gov/manage-loans/repayment/plans.
