Hands-on opportunities, on-campus job experience help grad prepare for career
Afton Nelson initially planned to become a large animal veterinarian. When transferring to UWRF, she went back and forth between majoring in animal science or dairy science before realizing it would be easy to double major. Being able to explore her interests through classes helped her find her professional path.
Internship with barbershop chorus strikes a chord for UWRF grad
Michael Kerr made full use of UWRF’s Career Services to put his best foot forward. He said he was in Career Services more than twice a week, reworking his resume and cover letters, with a goal to be very intentional and individualistic. He learned to stand out at career fair events, having real conversations with representatives about their employers and careers.
Variety of skills prep Falcon for Federal Reserve internship
In choosing a college, Mason Steele said he was attracted to UWRF’s small class sizes and affordable tuition that allowed him to finance his education by himself with paid internships and part-time jobs. Once on campus, he found himself learning about more than finance, economics and math.
