Be Part of the Falcon Move Crew!

Falcon Move Crew is a group of UWRF students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members who are excited to welcome new students to campus during move in on Thursday, Aug. 29 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Shifts will be available from 8:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Falcon Move Crew uses a variety a volunteer roles to help students, families and supporters navigate the move-in process smoothly. What is the Falcon Move Crew?

Falcon Move Crew members will fulfill various roles including unloading vehicles, directing traffic, working at the volunteer support table and managing trash/recycling bins. By unloading vehicles, ensuring traffic is moving smoothly and providing support to volunteers and others at a check-in table on each side of campus, we work together to help welcome students home.

I'm a student. Can I help?

Any student of any age and residency status is welcome to join the Falcon Move Crew. Every student can receive verification of volunteer hours via email after the event if they check in and out with the volunteer table in their area. Confirmed student volunteers who live on campus may check in the day before move in occurs. Detailed locations and times will be determined later this year and shared via email.

When's the Move In meeting?

There will be a Falcon Move Crew meeting the day before the scheduled move-in day. Time and campus location is to be determined. Student volunteer attendance is required. Faculty, staff, alumni and community volunteers are not required to attend the meeting but are welcome to join us. Directions will be emailed to these volunteers and t-shirts will be available for pick up.

What else do I need to know?

Every volunteer will receive an exclusive UWRF t-shirt as part of their volunteer experience. In case of implement weather (excessive heat or rain), other items such as battery operated fans, ponchos and umbrellas can be provided upon request. These will be available for pick up at the Falcon Move Crew meeting and again at the volunteer check-in tables on move-in day. Nametags, water bottles, snacks and more will also be available at the volunteer check-in tables for Falcon Move Crew members.
