Create Your Own Minor: Individualized Interdisciplinary Minor (Option B)

This minor allows you to incorporate courses from several academic areas into a unique program of study with careful guidance from a faculty adviser intended to prepare you for employment or graduate study in a specific field of interest.

Managing Your GPA

Utilize our GPA Calculator to help keep track of your grade point average. Ways to manage and maximize your GPA. Outside of letter grades, keep these marks in mind:

  • I: Incomplete (Not computed in GPA); requires a final letter grade to graduate
  • S: Satisfactory (Not computed in GPA)
  • U: Unsatisfactory (Computed in GPA as a failing grade)
  • W: A late drop (Not computed in GPA)

GPA standards

Maintaining a cumulative (all semesters) GPA at or above 3.0 (B average) is recommended and is required for some programs such as student teaching. A cumulative 3.0 GPA may qualify you for an honor society (such as AKD-Sociology, Phi Alpha Theta-History, and more. Inquire with the department of your major). Membership adds distinction to your resume and earns you society honor cords to wear at graduation. Some honor societies may have higher GPA requirements.

Considering Graduate School? A cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above can enhance your chances of acceptance. Requirements may vary among programs.

A 2.0 cumulative GPA is the minimum requirement to remain in "good standing" at UWRF.
