Environmental Sustainability Club

This is the newest club in the department and brings together environmental engineering students and students in other environmental-focused majors across campus. The club hosts guest speakers, participates in volunteer activities such as the Kinni Clean-up and community events like Earth Fest and plans field trips to learn more about environmental issues and solutions.

Falcon Pulling Team

Students interested in the mechanical side of engineering can get a 360-degree workplace experience by participating in the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) International Quarter-Scale Tractor Student Design competition. Teams are given a stock engine and a set of tires and spend the year designing and building their pulling tractor to meet specifications. The competition takes place annually in early June, when the team must sell their design to a panel of industry experts in a formal presentation. There is a static judging component to the competition where each entry is judged on innovation, manufacturability, serviceability, safety, sound level and ergonomics. Finally, each tractor is put to the test in a series of tractor pulls, a maneuverability course and a durability course. The competition is a popular recruiting event for many of the industry sponsors!
