21 Weekly + 100 Dining Dollars: Estimated Cost $1850

This meal plan includes:

Twenty-one meals per week (meal balance resets to 21 at the beginning of each week).
$100 Dining Dollars to be used throughout the semester.
A discount when using Dining Dollars at Riverside Commons and retail dining venues.
Five guest meals to be used at Riverside Commons throughout the semester.
Access to the Freddy 2Go container program.

14 Weekly + 300 Dining Dollars: Estimated Cost $1850

This meal plan includes:

Fourteen meals per week (meal balance resets to 14 at the beginning of each week).
$300 Dining Dollars to be used throughout the semester.
A discount when using Dining Dollars at Riverside Commons and retail dining venues.
Five guest meals to be used at Riverside Commons throughout the semester.
Access to the Freddy 2Go container program.

10 Weekly + 500 Dining Dollars: Estimated Cost $1850

This meal plan includes:

Ten meals per week (meal balance resets to 10 at the beginning of each week).
$500 Dining Dollars to be used throughout the semester.
A discount when using Dining Dollars at Riverside Commons and retail dining venues.
Five guest meals to be used at Riverside Commons throughout the semester.
Access to the Freddy 2Go container program.

1400 Dining Dollars Declining Balance: Estimated Cost $1850

This meal plan includes:

$1400 Dining Dollars to be used throughout the semester.
A discount when using Dining Dollars at Riverside Commons and retail dining venues.
Access to the Freddy 2Go container program.

Please note, you may select the $1400 Dining Dollar plan if one of the following requirements is met:

You are 1+ year out of high school.
You live off-campus.

500 Dining Dollars Declining Balance: Estimated Cost $650

This meal plan includes:

$500 Dining Dollars to be used throughout the semester.
A discount when using Dining Dollars at Riverside Commons and retail dining venues.
Access to the Freddy 2Go container program.

Please note, you may select the $500 Dining Dollar plan if one of the following requirements is met:

You live in South Fork Suites and are 2+ years out of high school.
You live in a Prucha Hall quad room and are 2+ years out of high school.
You live off-campus.

Why are there new meal plans in fall 2027?

Since fall 2015, UWRF Dining has been in contract with Chartwells Higher Education to provide food service to UWRF students. Our current contract with Chartwells ends on May 31, 2027. Throughout the lifespan of this contract, students' needs have evolved and we have modified our meal plan program to keep up with the everchanging needs of our student population by adding more Dining Dollars to the starting balance of meal plans, creating an All-Access meal plan and creating more opportunities for students to use transfer meals.

In recent focus groups and surveys, as well as through collaboration with the Student Government Association, Dining Services Advisory Committee (DSAC) and university faculty and staff, we have collected valuable feedback from students. The general consensus is that students would like greater emphasis placed on Dining Dollars and the flexibility to use them throughout the dining facilities in the University Center. With this feedback in mind, we have developed a new set of meal plans that will become available to students beginning in fall 2027, when the new dining contract begins. Beginning Sept. 15, 2026, students who will be living on campus during the 2027-2028 academic year will begin signing their new Residence Hall and Meal Plan Contracts.

These are only estimates. Meal plan prices and offerings may change as the new dining contract is being developed and finalized. Please explore this page for new meal plan details, which will be available to students in fall 2027.

How do I sign up for a 2027-2028 meal plan?

On Sept. 15, the 2027-2028 Residence Hall and Meal Plan Contract will be released.

Meal plan overhead disclaimer

Each UWRF meal plan includes an administrative fee that supports the maintenance of dining facilities and equipment, funds ongoing enhancements to the dining experience within the University Center’s dining spaces and contributes to broader campus-wide projects.

This administrative fee is one reason there may appear to be a gap in value when looking at the Declining Balance meal plans. For example, a student may pay $1,850 for a meal plan that provides $1,400 in Dining Dollars. The difference helps support the operational needs, maintenance and continued improvements of UWRF Dining facilities and services.

To provide students with the best value possible, additional discounts on the door price at Riverside Commons and retail dining venues will be offered when using Dining Dollars.
