Career Services Events
My First Resume
- My First Resume helps first-year students and beginners learn the essentials of building a resume. The 30-minute session includes a short presentation on key resume components followed by a Q&A opportunity.
Career Chic for Cheap
- Career Chic for Cheap gives students the opportunity to shop for affordable professional clothing at the local thrift store, Our Neighbor's Place, just a short walk from campus. This event helps students prepare for career fairs and interviews, with many items available at very low cost or free.
Rodli Resume Review
- Rodli Resume Review is a drop-in event where students meet one-on-one with employers from a variety of fields for resume feedback and professional advice. This event also allows students to network with employers aligned with their major or career interests, many of whom attend the Career Fair the following week.
Career and Internship Fair
- The Career and Internship Fair is an event with up to 90 employers representing a wide variety of industries. Students can walk through the fair to network with recruiters, including many UWRF alumni, and learn about internships and current job openings.
Education Fair
- The Education Fair connects students with school districts, administrators and education focused organizations to network and explore careers in K-12 education. It's part of Student Teaching Professional Development Day, a full-day experience that brings student teachers back to campus for a keynote from a local administrator, an expert panel of regional teachers and administrators and mock interviews with local administrators. The on-campus fair and professional development designed for student teachers is a unique benefit for UWRF students that is not common at other universities.
Employer Panel: Interviewing
- The Employer Panel: Interviewing features a Q&A-style discussion with employers who share insights on the interview process. Open to all students, this event allows attendees to learn what employers look for and how to prepare for interviews.
Employer Panel: Women in Business
- The Employer Panel: Women in Business features a Q&A style discussion with women professionals working in a variety of business fields. This event is open to all students and provides the opportunity to hear different career perspectives and ask questions.
Etiquette Dinner
- The Etiquette Dinner is a guided, multi-course meal where students learn professional dining etiquette and business meal expectations. The event is open to all students and free to attend through SGA support.
