Paying for College

Did you know that the UWRF Art Department offers scholarships you can apply for annually? Separate from the general UWRF scholarship opportunities, these selected scholarships are available only to students seeking art degrees. Award: Full-tuition or half-tuition, plus stipend.

Eligibility: Incoming first year student, art major (Bachelor of Science-Art, Bachelor of Science-Art Education, Bachelor of Fine Arts), minimum ACT score of 26 and/or a cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Application: Application includes an essay and digital portfolio upload requirement.

Deadline: February 1

Requirements: Application, essay, digital portfolio. Why do you want to study art at UWRF? The digital portfolio must contain 15-20 work samples, 96 ppi, 1,200 px wide/high at largest dimension. Finalists will be required to complete an interview and provide a physical portfolio containing work samples.

Award Continuance: The scholarship is renewable for up to four academic years, provided the recipient continues to pursue an art degree and maintains a 3.0 GPA in art. Stipends may be used for undergraduate research or study abroad during the junior or senior year.

For creative students majoring in any area of art, who meet selection criteria and are continuing as a sophomore, junior or senior.

Based upon academic excellence in the major, this scholarship is awarded to a student who has completed at least one full year of study at UWRF. Potential for success and financial need may also be factors.

Awarded to art majors who have completed their first year of studies and have shown creativity and dedication through their artwork and academic classes.

Awarded to an outstanding art major for their junior or senior year, based upon academic excellence, creativity and potential.

Awarded to art majors on the basis of academic excellence in the major and who have completed at least one year at UWRF.

Granted to a sophomore or junior art major who has earned 18 credits in art at UWRF with a minimum GPA of 3.25 in art courses.

Awarded to an art major for the junior or senior year. Based upon academic excellence, creativity and financial need.
