Fall Semester 2025

Witness Photography Exhibition

Reception: Friday, Sept. 19, 4-6 p.m.

BFA Senior Thesis Exhibition

Reception: Friday, Nov. 14, 5-8 p.m.

The exhibition will feature five seniors working in ceramics, graphic design and painting.

Kira Anderson

Kira Anderson is a graphic designer and digital artist based in Amery. She works primarily in digital media and photography, creating vibrant, colorful pieces that highlight the emotional depth of everyday experiences. Her work features bold visual design, often utilizing color and form to evoke emotions and spark connections. Her goal is to create art that moves viewers and invites them into a shared emotional space.

This work examines overlooked issues in healthcare in a visual form that is both accessible and impactful. Rooted in research and reality, the design effectively brings together data and personal experience into a clear and engaging narrative. By creating a balance between clarity and advocacy, the work demonstrates how graphic design can serve as both a means of communication and a form of activism, transforming challenges into opportunities for awareness and discussion.

Flory Campos

Flory began her educational journey at Dakota County Technical College, earning an associate’s degree in interior design. This foundation in design sparked a growing interest in graphic design, leading her to continue her studies at Winona State University, where she immersed herself in the graphic design and I-Design programs for two transformative semesters. Currently, Flory is completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in graphic design at the University of Wisconsin.

Through these diverse educational experiences, Flory has developed a unique artistic perspective, gaining techniques and insights that deeply influence their creative practice. Her work reflects a personal and thoughtful approach to the arts, one that values both exploration and connection, with each project serving as a meaningful expression of their growth as a designer

Focusing on graphic design, I absolutely cherish and embody creativity, curiosity, and artistry while celebrating the imaginative expressions across all aspects of design. The work features a playful yet intricately crafted fusion of vibrant and soft colors, paired with a desire for precise linework. By illustrating these qualities in these dynamic creations, I hop between youthful, elegant, or delicate aesthetics to evoke a sense of charm in my audience. With a sharp and loving eye for composition and boundless imagination, the creations invite viewers to embrace the friendship and creativity I perceive in the visual arts.

Hailey Feuerborn

Hailey Feuerborn was born December 11th, 2001 in Memphis, Tenn. Her family quickly moved north, where they have remained. Hailey Feuerborn is currently enrolled as a BFA Ceramicist at UW-River Falls, where she currently lives as well. Her art is characterized by a sense of humor as well as a strong focus on texture and pattern.

The art that I create comes from a place of joy and love for those around me and for the world that I live in. My inspiration comes from where come from in terms of my family, my birthplace, my country and the parts of these things I find beautiful and worthy of celebrating. There is too much hate and angst in the world for me to be just another droning voice.

Chloe Germain

Chloe Germain is a student at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls studying fine arts with an emphasis in ceramics. Born and raised in the St. Croix Valley, her work is inspired by Japanese and British studio pottery, blending historical craft with contemporary simplicity. Working with both hand-built and wheel-thrown techniques, Chloe creates limited series tableware and decorative pieces. Outside of ceramics, she also enjoys drawing, painting, and photography, maintaining a strong focus on precision and craftsmanship across all mediums.

In this body of work, I explore the relationship between form and surface in ceramics. By experimenting with different forms, each vessel becomes a new canvas, offering a fresh perspective and a chance to emphasize different qualities of the work. Precision and craftsmanship are central to my practice, guiding every stage of the making process from start to finish. Glazes are selected and applied with intention, responding directly to the form while drawing inspiration from colors and patterns of landscapes, as well as aesthetics from Japanese and British studio pottery. Through the interplay of soft curves and sharp angles paired with naturalistic glazes, my work finds a calming balance between utility and beauty, highlighting the duality of ceramics as both functional objects and fine art.

Abigail Nick

Abigail Nick is an oil and watercolor painter based out of River Falls. Her work focuses on personal aspects and experiences from life. She pulls inspiration from the impressionists to create surreal and idealized imagery and compositions.

The focus in this body of work is on the women who pushed me to pursue painting and is an inspiration in every aspect of the word, my mom. Pulling from the way she mothers to the way she walks in her faith everyday these paintings toe the line of a mothers love and the love for one's maker. Showcasing the beauty in the world around us, pulling inspiration from the impressionists, the work has a balance of surrealism and abstraction. Line, color, and shape all play a heavy role in highlighting the strength my mother embodies everyday. These paintings are an ode to her and everything she has given me and my siblings.

Fall Semester 2024

On The River

Reception: Friday, Sept. 20, 3–5 p.m.

Souzeina Mushtaq

Rivers in India are sacred and worshipped, yet they are among the most polluted due to human activities like industrial waste, untreated sewage, and idol immersion. The Yamuna River, especially around India’s capital, Delhi, embodies this paradox. Toxic foam, a byproduct of industrial waste, often covers the river, making it hazardous for those who still rely on it for religious rituals. Efforts to clean, and even the recent legal recognition of rivers as living entities, have largely failed.

In collaboration with Praveen K. Chaudhry of the State University of New York/FIT, the images in this exhibition invite viewers to reflect on the human contradictions of deep spirituality and environmental indifference towards a river celebrated since the ancient times.

Andy Richter

A method of self-realization and a state of being, yoga encourages greater equanimity and awareness, a calm mind, a healthy body, and a compassionate heart. After studying yoga for years, Andy Richter decided to use his medium—photography—to deepen his understanding and search for the essence of the teachings.

For more than half a decade, Richter traveled to places that are historically relevant to yoga’s past, as well as to places that embody its living present, photographing a variety of yoga traditions with many of the world’s great saints and yogis. While this ancient Indian science has roots in Eastern philosophy and systems of thought, today the practice of yoga is mainstream, global, and growing in popularity. For this exhibition, a selection of works from the series Serpent in the Wilderness is situated in relation to the Ganges and Yamuna rivers.
