  • After books have been scanned in, return them to the appropriate location on the shelves.
    • Use the blue number on the bottom of the textbook to determine shelf location (signs posted).

If you are unable to return your textbooks during our scheduled textbook return hours, please use one of our textbook drop boxes. One is located just outside the library building, facing the University Center (UC). The other drop box is located inside the library, to the left of the Textbook Services Help Desk. Textbook due dates are typically the day after the last day of finals. For summer and winter/J- terms, the due date is the first day of classes of the following term (e.g., fall term for summer books.) If a student requires the book past the due date (e.g., took an incomplete, need to finish a paper), their instructor or adviser must email Textbook Services to request this.

  • Students will receive an email from circulation@uwrf.edu after textbooks are checked out, when textbooks are checked in, when they are due, after they are overdue and monthly email reminders on the 2nd of every month.
  • Late fines are $1/day per book to a maximum of $10 per book.
  • At 28 days overdue, books will be set to LOST and an additional $10 long overdue fine will be applied.
  • After 60 days overdue, student account may be sent to Student Billing for collection.
  • Lost or severely damaged books will have to be paid for at replacement value in Alma.
  1. Pack all textbooks in a cardboard box or USPS Flat Rate Box. Fill any voids with packing material (e.g. air pillows, bubble wrap, newsprint).
  2. If you have only one or two books, you may use a padded shipping envelope instead of a box.
  3. Include a sheet of paper with your name and Falcon ID ("W") number inside the package.
  4. Seal box with packing tape.
  5. Address the package to: UW-River Falls Textbook Services, 410 S. 3rd St., River Falls, WI 54022.
  6. Take the box to a Post Office, UPS Office or FedEx Store.
  7. Email tracking number to textbookservices@uwrf.edu.
