Applying to Student Teach
Student teaching occurs during a candidate's final semester in the Educator Preparation Program. Student teaching applications are due a full year in advance of when a candidate plans to student teach.
There are three parts to the application:
- Student Teaching Form
- Resume and three references
- Autobiography
Submitting your application
You will submit your application in two ways:
- Sending your resume and autobiography electronically to studentteach@uwrf.edu AND
- Dropping off a printed copy of the form, resume and autobiography to Wyman Education Building, Room 203.
- You also have the option of mailing the printed copy to UWRF, Wyman Education Building Room 203, 410 S. 3rd St. River Falls, WI 54022 ATTN: Dr. Wanda Schlesser
Application Resources
Your resume and autobiography are important! They are how your potential placement school and cooperating teacher gain their first impression of you. These documents are also in part how the school and teacher make an initial decision about you joining their team.

Application Due Dates
Student teaching applications are due one year prior to your planned student teaching.
- Fall applications are due by 4 p.m., on November 15.
- Spring applications are due by 4 p.m., on April 15.
