Room Move Requests for Current On-Campus Students
All room move requests for students that currently live on campus require an appointment with your Area Coordinator first. You'll meet with them to determine your needs and to find an appropriate fit for your room move.
Please note that room move requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and not all requests will be approved.
Schedule an appointment with your Area Coordinator using their individual link.
- Ames and South Fork Suites (Malachi Stroud)
- Hathorn (George Bakko)
- Johnson (Chandler Robles)
- Stratton and May (Megan Schetter)
- Crabtree and Parker (Grace Callander)
- McMillan and Grimm (Lilly Garrett)
Meet with your Area Coordinator. Please bring with you any specific information about your room move request, including:
- Reason(s) for your room move. If there is a roommate conflict, please clarify.
- Your preferences during a room move (desired hall, roommate details like ally status, smoking status, etc.).
- Your willingness to pay extra to move to Ames Suites or South Fork Suites, if eligible for those halls.
- Do you have a preference or a concern for living with a roommate who has a service animal or emotional support animal such as a dog or cat?
If a new room and roommate are identified and approved by your Area Coordinator, then follow all steps using the information provided by your Area Coordinator about the following:
- How to clean and prepare your current room for move out.
- How to turn in your paperwork and room key for your current room.
- How to pick up your key and paperwork for your new room and how to turn in the paperwork.
Single Rooms
Single room lottery: Single rooms are not awarded by a room move request through your Area Coordinator. When, and if, Residence Life has space available to provide the option for a single room lottery during an academic semester, then all on-campus students will be notified with details via their UWRF email address about how and when to enter the lottery.
Medical single rooms: All requests for medical single rooms must go through the Disability Resource Center. See the "Accommodations 1-2-3" section of their homepage.
