The Writing Center

The Writing Center is a free resource available to all UWRF students seeking support with their writing. Our staff consists of specially trained undergraduate tutors from a variety of majors, who are dedicated to helping students improve their writing skills through an interactive, dynamic process. We offer assistance at any stage of the writing process and provide constructive, nonjudgmental feedback on academic, professional and creative work.

2025 Hours

The Writing Center will open Monday, September 15. Hours are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.


Scheduling an appointment

You can sign up for an appointment online. Once you get to the TracCloud Main Menu, click on "Schedule a Writing Center Appointment" on the right-hand side of the page. Walk-ins are also welcome! Just drop by KFA 225 (look for the signs if you get lost!).



Who can benefit by using the Writing Center?
Undergraduate and graduate students from any major, enrolled in classes from any subject area, may visit the WC for assistance during any stage of composing (brainstorming, revising, editing, etc).

Who we are: 
The Writing Center staff consists of specially trained undergraduate students from a variety of majors - tutors who help students learn to write more effectively on their own. 

  • Name: Brogan O'Leary, He/Him/His
  • Majors: Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages and Professional Writing. (Minor in Asian Studies)
  • Talents/Areas of Interest: Rhetorical Analysis, Argumentative Essays, Research Papers, Professional and Technical Writing, some Creative Writing, etc.
  • Fun Fact: Two of my teeth are swapped in position! I have a molar where a canine should be, and vise-versa.
  • Name: Caroline Enochson, She/Her
  • Major: English Major with a Professional Writing Emphasis 
  • Skills/Interests: I am willing to work in any field of writing and will do my best to help improve your writing skills. Some of my specialties I am well versed in are essays, resumes, cover letters, and technical documents such as grants, proposals, and technical writing. 
  • Fun Fact: A fun fact about me is that I have a minor in Equine Science, and I compete on our university's IHSA Hunt Seat Team. Last year I worked on a Dude Ranch in the Rocky Mountains and will be working in Glacier National Park this summer as well!
  • Name: Erica Hoyt, she/her
  • Major: Literature and Creative Writing 
  • Skills/Interests: I’m especially fond of creative writing, psychology (because I learn from you!), and literary analyses. And I love brainstorming sessions! 
  • Fun Fact: This photo was taken in Glasgow :) I spent a full semester abroad in 2023 and I plan on pursuing graduate school in Austria. If you ever want info about international education, I’m happy to chat or direct you to resources!

  • Skills/Interests: I really enjoy brainstorming and finding evidence to support arguments! Especially combining the two and making a collection of sources that relate to the different points of the paper.
