English Tutoring Services
We're here to help you achieve! Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in UWRF classes from all subject areas may visit the tutoring centers for assistance. All tutoring services are FREE!

Our Services
The UWRF Writing Center is open and ready for FREE in-person tutoring sessions. Students may schedule an appointment in person at the campus Writing Center located on the second floor of the Kleinpell Fine Arts building (room 225). Walk-ins are also welcome during Writing Center hours for immediate tutor needs.
2025 Spring Semester Writing Center Hours
- Monday-Friday: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
The Writing Center in KFA opens during the second or third week of classes and closes just before final exam week. It does not operate over J-term, spring break or during the summer. Please consult the Online Writing Lab (OWL) in Canvas for specific details about OWL availability.
Who can benefit by using the Writing Center?
Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in classes from all subject areas may visit the OWL and/or the WC for assistance during all stages of composing (inventing, revising, editing).
Who we are:
The Writing Center staff consists of specially trained undergraduate students from a variety of majors - tutors who help students learn to write more effectively on their own. The WC/OWL are not proofreading, rewriting or correcting services, or a guarantee of better grades.
Suggestions for receiving the best help from the Writing Center:
- Consider submitting a rough draft. We will read it, ask questions and help you focus your ideas and expand your development.
- Give yourself plenty of time to submit your work in order to receive feedback before your assignment is due.
- Read your feedback carefully, thinking about the suggestions the tutor gave you. Revise your work.
- Visit the university Writing Center on a regular basis, so that you will continue to grow as a writer.
The English as a Second Language Center is located in Kleinpell Fine Arts 213 and available to help tutor non-native English speakers not only with their studies but also with conversation through set times called Speaker's Corner. All students are welcome and all services are free.
Can't visit in person?
No problem! Join the ESL Tutoring Center Canvas page and submit your materials online. A tutor will give you feedback by the end of the following day of your submission.
