Our program welcomes prospective student visits throughout the year. Upon request, a faculty member will be made available to answer questions, speak about the field of school psychology, discuss the program and provide a tour of school psychology facilities. Want to chat with program staff and students? Join us for an in-person prospective student open house to learn more about our school psychology graduate program on Tuesday, Nov. 12 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in WEB 129. The open house will be drop-in style and faculty and current students will be on hand to answer questions and provide facility tours. No RSVP is required!
We're a short 30-minute drive from downtown St. Paul. Use driving directions to 410 S. 3rd St., River Falls WI 54022. Once you've arrived on campus, park in Pay 1 or Pay 2 lots. View the campus map for details on parking locations and the location of Wyman Education Building (WEB, #19 on the map). Room 129 is a 5-10 minute from the parking lots.

How to Apply
The School Psychology Program has one annual admissions deadline: January 15.
Applications received on or before January 15th each year will be prioritized for program entrance the following fall semester. Application review and decisions are typically completed in February. Late applications may be considered if open seats remain after April 15th (the date by which accepted applicants must inform the program of their intent to join the program or not).
Applicants are encouraged to check application status by logging in to the Applicant Portal, calling the Graduate Admissions Office at 715-425-3500 or emailing graduateadmissions@uwrf.edu.
All materials are required unless otherwise noted. Please follow the required submission methods to ensure proper receipt of your application materials. Contact graduateadmissions@uwrf.edu with questions.
To be considered for admission, an applicant must have a minimum 2.75 undergraduate GPA. Applicants with GPAs lower than 2.75 may be considered in special circumstances.
- Online application:
- Apply at apply.wisconsin.edu/.
- Submit payment electronically at the same link and same time of application.
- Once you submit the UW System application, we will send you an email within 1-2 days confirming receipt of your application. The email will provide instructions on how to activate your Falcon account and access the Applicant portal.
- The Applicant Portal is where you can add your references, complete the School Psychology Letter of Interest and check the status of your application.
- Three letters of recommendation:
- References can be added to your applicant portal.
- Please select "School Psychology Recommendation" from the recommender menu.
- Once you submit the names of y our references in the Applicant Portal, your references will be emailed with a request to submit a letter of recommendation on your behalf.
- Letter of interest:
- Complete and submit the letter of interest directly in the Applicant Portal.
- Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate schools attended:
- Send electronic transcripts to UWRF. Official transcripts must be received directly from the institution issuing the transcript.
- Applicant interviews:
- Applicant interviews are not required but attending our applicant-only information session on campus is highly encouraged for all applicants. Check back for date details at a later time.
- While the applicant informational session is highly encouraged (best option for applicants), there are other ways to connect and learn more about our program. Applicants may contact the program director at scott.woitaszewski@uwrf.edu to schedule alternatives.

Important application information:
- An admissions office representative will create and organize a file of each applicant's submitted materials. However, it's the applicant's responsibility to monitor and ensure the completion status of their application. Call 715-425-3500 or email graduateadmissions@uwrf.edu with questions.
- Final admission decisions are typically made in February.
- Please note: A criminal background check is not required as part of the application, but will be required for all accepted students prior to formal admission. Accepted students will receive an email from the College of Education, Business and Allied Health Associate Dean about this process. Indications of any criminal history on the background check are not considered in the application review process but may require a meeting with the college Associate Dean. Additionally, the program cannot guarantee any graduate an educational license nor job opportunities. Some licensing agencies and some school districts may choose not to consider applicants with criminal histories.
