Chemistry 295: Introduction to Undergraduate Research and Chemistry 495: Undergraduate Research
For Credit
A student will conduct laboratory or literature research on a chemistry-related topic under the direction of a faculty mentor. If you're interested in undergraduate research, reach out to a faculty member or adviser in the Chemistry and Biotechnology Department.
Undergraduate Research, Scholarly and Creative Activity (URSCA)
URSCA's mission is to support and promote the culture of undergraduate research, scholarly and creative activity across campus. URSCA offers opportunities for students at all levels of the undergraduate experience, from the first and second years through graduation!
UWRF Faculty Research Grants and External Research Grants
Several faculty members within the department have received these grants in recent years. These grants provide funding for student salaries and supplies. Individual faculty research interests can be found on the faculty member's homepage. Please contact faculty members in the Chemistry and Biotechnology Department to see if they have funding available.
Hands-On Learning
Hands-on learning and faculty interaction are important components of our program. Chemistry faculty have breadth of expertise in areas of chemistry such as analytical, biochemistry, computational, education, inorganic, medicinal, organic, pharmacology, physical and polymer chemistry. Students learn in small classes and have the opportunity to work closely with faculty on undergraduate research early in their college careers.
