The mission of UWRF Falcon Company is to educate, train and inspire cadets so that each graduate is committed to the Warrior Ethos and the United States Army Vales; prepared for leadership as a commissioned officer in the United States Army; and dedicated to a lifetime of selfless service to the nation.

Today's employers are looking for college graduates who can manage productive teams, solve problems and make decisions. In short, they are looking for leaders. Army ROTC is one program at UWRF that focuses on leadership. Army ROTC courses and activities develop confidence and provide practical leadership experience. In addition, several cadets in our ranks are veterans and know how to assist and support individuals to become successful leaders.

UWRF Army ROTC doubles graduate's career opportunities after college. With their officer credentials they are often placed first-in-line for job offers. All ROTC graduates possess the skills of decision making, management, leadership, and discipline. With these skills in hand, they may enter either full-time active duty or part-time reserve duty with immediate officer leadership responsibilities.

Getting into UWRF Army ROTC is as easy as registering for a freshman course. Classes and lab are once a week and the student begins with only one required physical training session per week building up to three as they progress through their ROTC career. During the first two years, ROTC cadets have no military obligation. However, once a scholarship is accepted or the cadet chooses to contract through the Simultaneous Membership Program, the commitment is made to serve as an officer in the United States Army.

Army ROTC cadets put their leadership skills into action during leaders training exercises each year.. Contract cadets have opportunities for additional Army schools:

  • Airborne School
  • Air Assault School
  • Cadet Troop Leadership Training
