Contest Overview

Falcons, show us your favorite event or experience on campus in 60 seconds or less and you could win a $1,000 UWRF Foundation scholarship for your spring tuition! Whether it's a Week of Welcome event, Falcon Frontier Days rodeo, athletic event, academic experience, student org activity, Homecoming or your own personal experience at UWRF, we want to see and promote what makes your experience at UWRF special to you!

Five students will each win a $1,000 Foundation scholarship, just for making a creative, authentic and fun video that shows off life at UWRF! See official rules for more details.

Contest Dates: 

  • Contest Opens: Nov. 4, 2025

  • Final Submission Deadline: Dec. 16, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. CST 

  • Winners Announced: Dec. 19, 2025 


Official Rules 

Sponsor: University of Wisconsin-River Falls, a member of the Universities of Wisconsin. 


Eligibility: 

  • Open to currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students at UW-River Falls during the fall 2025 semester and continuing into the spring 2026 semester. 

  • Employees of UW-River Falls Admissions or contest organizers are not eligible. 

  • If you are currently employed in a communications or social media role as part of any on-campus employment, please only submit original videos and not content you have previously created as part of your on-campus job.

Entry Requirements and Deadline: 

  • Submit a video of 60 seconds or less showcasing your favorite event or experience at UWRF. 

  • Post the video publicly on TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook or YouTube using the hashtag #UWRF1000Minute AND tag UWRF Admissions. 

  • Tag the corresponding UWRF Admissions account based upon your chosen platform(s). This will be used to verify winners. 

  • Submit your video link(s) and total public like count via the official entry form by Dec. 16, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. CST.  

  • Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered. 


Content Guidelines: 

  • Videos must adhere to UW-River Falls community standards and our social media policy. 

  • Please refer to Policy ID AP-01-209 found within the social media policy regarding the use of copyrighted material. 

  • Inappropriate, offensive, or misleading content will result in disqualification at the discretion of the contest committee. 

  • By entering, participants grant UW-River Falls permission to repost, share and promote their submissions across university platforms. 

  • Participants agree to provide original video files upon request for promotional use. 


Winner Selection: 

  • The five videos with the highest combined public “like” count across all platforms will be awarded. 

  • Likes must be visible and verifiable. 

  • In the event of a tie, the contest committee will vote on the best video to break the tie. 

  • A minimum of four (4) scholarships will be awarded to undergraduate students.

  • Winners will be announced Dec. 19, 2025.

 
Prizes: 

  • Five (5) winners will each receive a $1,000 foundation scholarship applied directly to their spring 2026 UWRF tuition bill. 

  • Scholarships are non-transferable and have no cash value. 

  • Receipt of the scholarship may affect existing financial aid packages. 

  • When new scholarships or awards are added, UWRF reviews your financial aid package to make sure everything fits within program guidelines. Occasionally, this can cause a small adjustment to other aid, but it won’t reduce your overall support


General Conditions: 

  • UW-River Falls reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the contest at any time. 

  • All decisions made by the contest committee are final. 

  • Participation constitutes acceptance of these official rules.
