Why Studying Abroad is Totally Worth It

Build a Global Network

You’ll meet incredible people—from fellow students to locals—and share experiences that turn into lifelong memories (and maybe LinkedIn connections too). These friendships could open doors in your personal and professional life for years to come.

Boost Your Confidence

Living in another country challenges you in the best ways. You’ll learn more about the world—and yourself. Expect a confidence upgrade in independence, self-awareness and problem-solving.

Experience the Extraordinary

Taste new foods, visit landmarks you’ve only seen in books, explore your roots or swim in a different ocean. No two trips are the same, but every journey is unforgettable.

Take Learning Further

Studying abroad gives you access to classes and perspectives you can’t get at UWRF. It’s a whole new way to learn—more dynamic, more immersive and way more memorable.

Improve Your Language and Communication Skills

Want to level up your Spanish, German or Korean? Immersing yourself in a culture is the best way to sharpen your language skills and improve how you communicate across cultures—something employers love.

Expand Your Worldview

There’s no substitute for experiencing a new culture first-hand. You’ll challenge your assumptions, gain new perspectives and come home with a greater understanding of the world and your place in it.

Develop Real-World Skills

From time management to empathy, critical thinking to leadership, you’ll gain personal and professional skills that go way beyond the classroom—and stay with you for life.

Stand Out to Employers

International experience gives your résumé serious edge. Research shows grads with global experience are more likely to land a job within six months after graduation—and employers actively look for candidates who’ve proven they can thrive in new and diverse environments.

No Regrets

Talk to anyone who missed out on studying abroad and chances are, they wish they had. Don’t let this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity pass you by—explore your options now and make it happen.
