Plant and Earth Science
Teaching is the top priority in the Plant and Earth Science Department. From the moment you arrive on campus, our faculty take a personal interest in your education. We strive to bring interactive and engaging experiences to the classroom and beyond and we work closely with workforce partners to ensure you have the skills and training to be successful in your future career.
Food, fuel and fiber production, clean air and water, mineral resource discovery and extraction, declining biodiversity, sustainable land development, habitat management, land restoration and climate change are just some of the challenges that we face today. Our array of academic programs takes a multidisciplinary approach to helping you understand and tackle these issues. We bring together five majors that aren’t typically found in the same academic unit, with the connections and intersections among these disciplines providing us with novel teaching and research opportunities.
