Agricultural Education Society
The Agricultural Education Society promotes ag education and FFA and gives future agricultural educators experiences to help them prepare for future teaching jobs. You'll have the opportunity to participate in parliamentary procedure workshops and judging, attend state and national FFA conventions, tour agribusinesses, host speakers and assist with the Agricultural Technology Contest and Falcon Ag Challenge, both of which bring hundreds of youth to campus. And you won't just have educational and professional opportunities, the group offers social outings, picnics, National Teach AG Day celebrations and more!
Alpha Tau Alpha (ATA)
ATA is an honorary organization which promotes the highest ideals and standards of the agricultural education profession by fostering closer relationships with others who have chosen the profession of agricultural and extension education. Members attend the national ATA Conclave held in conjunction with the National FFA Convention, where they test their knowledge and skills against other university ATA chapters in debate, quiz bowl and parliamentary procedure competitions. Each spring, ATA sponsors a Shadow Day for incoming agricultural education majors. Admitted students sit in on classes, get a personal tour of campus and the farms and meet other students, faculty and staff, ensuring they'll feel comfortable and recognize friendly faces when they arrive on campus in the fall!
