Our Programs
The Agricultural Education Department offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in agricultural education. Explore below to learn more about both programs, degree plans and more.
Agricultural Education Major (Undergraduate/Bachelor of Science Program)
As a new undergrad, you'll connect with fellow majors during your first semester on campus in the Orientation to Agricultural and Extension Education course. As you progress, the major includes a mix of technical agriculture, professional education and agricultural education courses. You're not required to select a minor but many student do opt to complete one.
In addition to your required courses, you must complete additional degree and teacher licensing requirements, including school-based experiences, agricultural occupational experiences and state-mandated tests. The program is designed to meet the requirements for an agricultural education teaching license in Wisconsin but its design closely follows the Minnesota licensure requirements as well. Agricultural Education (Graduate/Master of Science Program)
Our graduate degree program provides options for educators in both classroom and non-formal settings to continue their professional development. It also allows individuals with non-teaching undergraduate degrees to work towards an initial teacher licensure in agricultural education. Learn more at uwrf.edu/programs/agricultural-education-grad.
