Definitions

certificate: a document that certifies that a student has completed a series of courses in a specific area of study

certification: a course of study that allows students to meet the education requirements for teaching licensure

degree completion: a way for learners to apply previous academic experience and work experience toward the completion of a bachelor degree in a specific area of study

major: a subject or field of study chosen by a student to represent his or her principal interest and upon which a large share of his or her efforts are concentrated

minor: a subject or a course of study pursued by a student, especially a candidate for a degree, that is subordinate or supplementary to a major or principal subject or course
