The second part of the course focuses on discourse analysis - the study of how sentences in spoken and written language form larger meaningful units such as paragraphs, conversations, interviews, etc. Another focus of discourse analysis is the discourse used in the classroom. The third part of the course aims at teaching students to develop discourse and pragmatic materials that can be used in the ESL/EFL classroom.
