| Details: This course provides participants a thorough analysis of the knowledge base, and current practice in middle/secondary school literacy in the mathematics classroom. Emphasis is on curriculum integration, current technology and literacy strategies, and supports for language demands to enable students to become independent learners. Special emphasis is on individual differences among readers, as well as the social and political implications of global literacy perspectives. Field Experience required (25 hours). Prerequisites: This course is a portion of the high school math methods block. Concurrent enrollment in Math 305, TED 438, and TED 467. Admission to Teacher Ed or EPP admission Tier II. (Sp) |
