| Details: This course is designed to prepare prospective mathematics teachers to plan, implement, and evaluate learning units for middle school mathematics students with a focus on pedagogical methods for supporting diverse learners in the mathematics classroom. Emphasis will be on ways to differentiate mathematics curriculum for students with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to English learners, struggling learners, gifted mathematics learners, and any student identified as having special needs in an individual education plan (IEP) or 504 Plan. Field Experience required (35 hours). Prerequisites: This course is a portion of the middle school mathematics block. Concurrent enrollment in Math 304 and TED 457. Completion of TED 211/212 or 250.
