Teacher Education 454 Methods for Teaching Middle School Science
Details: This course will prepare teachers to teach middle school science in ways that address the needs of all learners, especially those underperforming and underrepresented in science. Teacher candidates will participate in, prepare, teach, and reflect on "phenomena first? instructional practices, grounded in the science education research and practice base, that help students learn science concepts while doing science. Teacher candidates will be prepared to safely teach science in ways that will help an increasingly diverse population of students develop the skills, knowledge, and dispositions they need for school, vocation, family life, recreation, health, and citizenship now and throughout their lives. Field experience required (38 hours). This course is part of Block II - Middle School Science Block. EPP admission Tier II and Completion of TED 434 and TED 462 (secondary) or TED 312 (elementary).
