Teacher Education 444 Applied Support for Diverse Learners in Middle School Social Studies 3.00
Details: This course is designed to prepare prospective social studies teachers to plan, implement, and evaluate learning units for middle school /upper elementary social studies students with a focus on pedagogical methods for supporting diverse learners in the social studies classroom. Emphasis will be on ways to differentiate social studies curriculum for students with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to English language learners, struggling learners gifted social studies learners, and any student identified as having special needs in an individual education plan (IEP) or 504 Plan. Field Experience required (50 hours). Prerequisites: This course is a portion of the middle school social studies block. Concurrent enrollment in TED 445 and EPP admission Tier II (Sp)
