Details: This course is designed to prepare prospective mathematics teachers to plan, implement, and evaluate learning units for high school mathematics students. These activities will reflect the recommendations presented in the Common Core State Standards ? Content & Practice, NCTM Standards ? Content & Process, and the NCTM Principles to Actions. Prospective mathematics teachers will learn to use various questioning techniques, develop pedagogical content knowledge, and integrate appropriate visuals and manipulatives when teaching high school math concepts. Field Experience required (25 hours). Prerequisites: This course is a portion of the high school math methods block. Concurrent enrollment in Math 305, TED 464, and TED 467. Admission to Teacher Ed or EPP admission Tier II. (Sp)
