| Details: This course examines the relationship between the political and economic sectors at the global level, with a particular emphasis on the affects that political factors have on economic organization. The first section of the course is a general introduction and discussion of the main approaches used to study political economy, such as nationalism, liberalism, and Marxism. The remainder of the course is devoted to specific issues such as investment, drug trafficking, stock markets, arms transfers, the environment, and food and hunger. (As offered) |
