Details: An introduction to the study of wave generation and propagation. The mathematical treatment of waves will be illustrated by practical examples drawn from music, geophysics and other branches of physics. Students pursuing a license to teach physics will be given opportunities to examine how acoustic can be infused into high school or middle school physics curricula. Prerequisites: PHYS 132, PHYS 361 or MATH 268. (Sp, alternate years)
