Film Studies 310 Sociology Through Film
Details: Film is used to explore and demonstrate the relevance of sociological thinking. Taking an active role, students will learn to go beyond the director's theory of the plot and the characters' motivations, an analyze it with their own sociologically informed perspective. As critics, students are encouraged to draw upon sociological meaning from the film that the film-makers may not have intended. Pre-requisites: SOCI 100 or ANTH 100 or FILM 200 or Consent of Instructor. (As offered)
