Details: This course investigates different techniques for measuring student language ability and how to construct assessment tools that are fair, reliable, and valid. Students should walk away from this class with the ability to analyze the validity and reliability of tests; skill in developing assessment tools that are appropriate for specific purposes, such as needs analyses, diagnostic tests, and achievement tests; and practice in interpreting the results of tests. Prerequisite: Junior standing or higher (more than 60 credits). (Sp)
