Details: Studio ceramics focuses on advanced techniques within the field of ceramics. Projects will reflect on historical and contemporary themes in ceramics and explore a conceptual approach to making. A variety of clays, surface treatments, building and firing methods will be used. Professionalism and personal artistic development will be a central theme to the course. Through discussions, readings, lectures, films and demonstrations students will develop and expand their knowledge and understanding of ceramic traditions. Materials fee is required. Prerequisites: Art 227 or instructor consent. (As offered)
