| Details: This course explores systematic strategies to organizing complex text-heavy informational systems. Students will examine visual expression, typographic form, information hierarchies, ability to communicate, user requirements, type combinations, imagery, layout, and appropriateness. Emphasis will be placed on the aesthetic qualities of type, message, and overall design structures, as well as the technical development of information hierarchies. The importance of emotion, audience, purpose, communication, and response will be addressed. Prerequisites: ART 243 or with instructor consent. Course fee required. (As offered) |
