Details: Classroom Interactions provides STEMteach students opportunities to see how theories explored in Knowing and Learning play out in instructional settings and how content and pedagogy combine to make effective teaching. Students design and implement instructional activities grounded in mathematics and science education research, then evaluate their instruction and student learning based on video footage, feedback, and student artifacts. Students are provided frameworks for thinking about equity issues in the classroom and larger school settings and they learn strategies for equitably teaching students of diverse backgrounds. Additionally, the course introduces ways in which curriculum and technology are used in classroom settings. (F) Prerequisites: UTCH 702 |
