Neuroscience 358 Social Affective Neuroscience
Details: This course will focus on what neuroscience can tell us about our relationships with ourselves and others and how it can inform our understanding of our emotions and motivations. We will discuss key topics in social affective neuroscience such as the neuroscience of emotions, relationships, group identity, and motivated social cognition. The course will also provide an overview of neuroimaging techniques used to study these topics and highlight recent discoveries in the field. Prerequisites: NSCI 111, PSYC 101, and one of the following statistics courses: PSYC 201, MATH 216, MATH 226, ECON 226, MATH 231; or permission of instructor.
