Counseling 310 Counseling Skills for Teachers
Details: This course gives the prospective teacher/educator the necessary background and skills in counseling practices designed for classrooms and educational settings. The focus of the course will be to present a model of educational counseling based on the principles of preventive programming, educational interventions and develop-mental understanding of student concerns. In addition, there will be an emphasis on specific interventions, skills and counseling strategies that have been determined to be effective for educational settings. The course will be primarily concerned with the emotional development of children and adolescents. Prerequisite: TED 211 or 212. (F, Sp, SS)
