Details: This course is a survey of the normal aspects and disorders of human communication across the lifespan. Topics include basic human communication processes, etiologies and characteristics of communication disorders. Prevention, assessment, and intervention strategies for a variety of communication disorders including articulation/phonological disorders, voice and resonance disorders, fluency disorders, language disorders, swallowing disorders, hearing disorders, social aspects of communication, cognitive aspects of communication and communication modalities are discussed.
