$8 Campus Rec fee, $20 Fitness Tracker rental
$8 of the course fee will go to Campus Recreation to support the increased cost of staffing group fitness classes - attendance at which will be a required course component. UWRF students currently pay a segregated fee to support operation of the Falcon Center. By UW system policy, these funds cannot be used for credit-producing courses.
$20 of the course fee is a rental fee for the use of Fitness trackers which are provided to each student in the course. This will allow us to replace the trackers, bands, charging cords, etc, as needed to maintain the necessary technology. The use of fitness trackers in this course is a specialized use of technology, which provides students with data regarding their intensity levels during exercise. This data allows students to understand and adjust their exercise habits to establish health-promoting behaviors. |
